Opening and Dedication of Our Lady of the Cedars church by Bishop Joseph Dergham who was in charge of the Maronite diocese in Cairo, Egypt, on Ascension Thursday, 9th May 1991. Later on 24th May, Fr. Elie Madi arrived as the new superior to assist in the needs of the Maronite community and to serve at Our Lady of Lebanon in Fordsburg and later at Our Lady of the Cedars in Woodmead, where through his big efforts, built the shrine, the priests’ house and the church hall. Fr George Bou Msallem arrived in November.
